Get one of these off ebay for about $100 bucks that uses coolant from that diesel engine and the only 12 volt you will need is to run the fan. Not worth the effort, nor the additional 25 amps worth of load on your alternator. Imagine a 1500-watt space heater in that same location. Will a 300W RoadPro ceramic heater w/fan do much good to take chill off? Waste of time and money? Would the charging system handle it? Need some real world experience.
